Commerzbank in the Czech Republic awarded traditional prize of 250,000 CZK to young musicians

For more than 25 years, Commerzbank Prague, in collaboration with the Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Performing Arts, has been hosting a traditional autumn concert for its clients and business partners. In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the management of the Prague branch has decided to forgo the event this year.

Despite the cancellation of the autumn concert, the traditional donation was still awarded this year. Michael T. Krüger, CEO Czech Republic & Slovakia of Commerzbank AG presented the prize to Prof. Václav Bernášek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of the Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Musical Arts in Prague. The prize enables students of this faculty to travel abroad and participate in international competitions.

The talented pianist Marek Kozák provided the musical framework for the award ceremony with J. S. Bach - S. Rachmaninov - Suite of Violin Part E Major BWV 1006.

„Commerzbank has been an integral part of the Czech economy and society for many years and I am very pleased that we contribute to the development of culture in the Czech Republic with this traditional donation,”said Michael T. Krüger.
