Largest location of German industrial companies
With the opening of its Brazilian subsidiary, the Commerzbank is now also offering its proven support model in corporate banking, which has been successful worldwide, in the strongest economy in Latin America. From the megalopolis São Paulo it will support both European companies active in Brazil and international companies on their way to Europe.
Brazil’s importance is shown by the following figures: One fifth of Brazilian exports flows to the European Union (EU). In turn, Brazil is in 10th place for exports from the EU. Germany is Brazil’s fourth largest trading partner, directly behind China, the USA and Argentina. Brazil is one of the most important trading parters for SMEs – especially from the mechanical engineering, automotive and chemicals sectors.
Furthermore, around 1,300 German companies are represented in Brazil, most of them in Greater São Paulo, the largest location for German industrial companies outside the Federal Republic.
